My Vision for MM JESUS in 2030
By David M, Founder of MM JESUS
My vision is simple but bold: that the 2,000th anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ becomes a once-in-history opportunity for the global Church to stand together in unity, witness, and hope.
For too long, Christians around the world have often marked great moments separately—divided by denomination, geography, language, and tradition. The Resurrection, however, belongs to all believers. The year 2030 offers a rare moment when the worldwide Church can unite visibly and joyfully around the central truth of the Christian faith: that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. My hope is that churches of every size and tradition will see this anniversary not as someone else’s project, but as a shared global milestone.
Unity, however, is only the beginning. The Resurrection anniversary must also be a catalyst for outreach. In many nations, millions have little understanding of who Jesus is or why His resurrection matters. The year 2030 provides an extraordinary opportunity for evangelism—through public events, media, education, creative arts, and local community engagement. My prayer is that the message of the risen Christ will be heard in cities, towns, and villages across the world in fresh and compelling ways.
Beyond outreach, I envision MM JESUS inspiring renewal within the Church itself—encouraging deeper discipleship, renewed prayer, and a rediscovery of the hope that the Resurrection brings to daily life. I also see this anniversary becoming a powerful moment for service and compassion, where believers demonstrate Christ’s love through acts of generosity, justice, reconciliation, and care for those in need.
Finally, my vision includes a strong global collaboration, using modern communication and technology to connect churches, ministries, and believers across borders. Through shared resources, coordinated celebrations, and collective storytelling, the world will see a united testimony of faith.
The Resurrection changed history once. In 2030, the remembrance of that event can once again change lives—by bringing the global Church together, reaching those who do not yet believe, strengthening those who do, and leaving a legacy of faith for generations to come.
Why we choose AD30 as the anniversary year
For the global MM JESUS initiative marking 2000 years since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have adopted AD 30 as the working historical date. This choice reflects a careful review of the best available historical and chronological evidence, while recognising that scholars generally narrow the crucifixion and resurrection to two possible years: AD 30 and AD 33.
All four Gospels place the crucifixion during the Roman governorship of Pontius Pilate (Matthew 27:2; Mark 15:1; Luke 3:1; John 18:29), who ruled Judea from AD 26 to 36. The Gospel accounts also agree that Jesus was crucified on a Friday at the time of Passover (Matthew 27:62–64; Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:14), placing the resurrection on the following Sunday (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1; John 20:1).
When historians and astronomers reconstruct the Jewish calendar for that period, only a small number of years meet these criteria, with Friday 7 April AD 30 and Friday 3 April AD 33 emerging as the strongest candidates.
Many historians favour AD 30 because it aligns naturally with the dating of John the Baptist’s ministry recorded in the Gospel of Luke, which places its beginning in the fifteenth year of the Roman emperor Tiberius (Luke 3:1–3). This allows a historically plausible span for the public ministry of Jesus leading to a crucifixion in the spring of AD 30. The Gospel of John, which records several Passover festivals during Jesus’ ministry (John 2:13; John 6:4; John 11:55), can also be reasonably accommodated within this timeframe.
Accordingly, Friday 7 April AD 30 (the crucifixion) and Sunday 9 April AD 30 (the Resurrection) will mark their 2000-year anniversaries in April 2030, forming the historical basis for the MM JESUS global commemorations, however events will be planned all over the world throughout April 2030 to celebrate MM JESUS. 2000 Years of Salvation.
Who is invited to celebrate MM JESUS
MM JESUS is intended as a global celebration centered on the historic Christian proclamation that salvation is found through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All individuals, churches, ministries, and organizations that affirm this core message are warmly invited to take part in the 2000-year commemoration of the Resurrection in 2030.
At the heart of MM JESUS is the conviction that Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross and His bodily resurrection provide the only way of salvation and eternal life. This conviction has been shared across centuries by Christians from many traditions and denominations. It is expressed in the New Testament message that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross (Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; John 14:6).
Because MM JESUS seeks to unite believers around this central Gospel message, participation is especially intended for those who hold to the historic Christian understanding that forgiveness of sins and entrance into heaven come through faith in Jesus Christ alone, based on His death and resurrection. This shared belief forms the foundation for unity across cultures, languages, and denominational backgrounds.
MM JESUS is not designed to promote denominational differences, theological disputes, or secondary doctrines. Rather, it focuses on the common ground that has defined Christianity since the earliest centuries: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, offering new life to all who believe.
Our prayer is that this anniversary will bring together believers worldwide who share this Gospel hope, so that the message of the risen Jesus may be proclaimed clearly, faithfully, and joyfully to the world.
